As of January 2020, Joel has taken on the role of Outreach Manager for BTL, overseeing program activity in our many non-Texas regions, and continues to manage projects at two DFW-area units as Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Coordinator #2.
Joel’s passion for prison ministry developed as he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Justice Systems from Truman State University, followed by a Master’s in Survey of Justice and Security from the University of Phoenix. After a successful 10-year career with AT&T, he turned his attention to full-time ministry for the incarcerated. Joel began as a BTL volunteer in 2016 and joined the Bridges to Life staff in 2018.
Joel ‘s wife Naomi is also a BTL volunteer. Their shared passions for Bible study, fitness, motorcycle racing, and prison ministry are foundational to their relationship. In addition to BTL, Joel and Naomi have both volunteered in ministries such as Bill Glass Behind the Walls, and Christian Motorcyclists Association.
