Misty is the Indiana Regional Coordinator for Bridges To Life, working as a Medical Assistant in Indianapolis for 18 years before coming on board with BTL in 2014.
In 2011, Misty volunteered for her first BTL project at the Miami Correctional Facility in Bunker Hill, Indiana, as a crime victim speaker. On October 18, 1992, Misty had been shot in the face point blank and left for dead as she was being robbed of her vehicle, a trauma followed by years of anger, hate, and bitterness.
Much later, after her offender was released from prison, Misty made contact with him and shared the impact of his actions on her life. Now they travel the country together sharing their powerful story of the healing that can come to a victim and offender through forgiveness.
Misty lives in Indianapolis with her four children.
