In July 2019, Judy took on the role of Lubbock Regional Coordinator for Bridges To Life, to manage the program in this newly developing region.
Judy first came to Bridges To Life as a crime victim. In December 1989, her 13-year-old daughter, Kelly Brumbelow, was violently murdered by their 12-year-old next door neighbor. Judy first started sharing her victim impact story with incarcerated youth in Texas in 1991, and with adult offenders in 1995. When Bridges To Life was founded, Judy volunteered in the Halbert and Kyle Units near her home in Austin for the next 10 years.
After retiring from a successful career with IBM, Judy moved to Washington in 2009. She missed her involvement with BTL, however, so she reached out to John Sage in 2014 to begin the process of introducing BTL to the Washington Department of Corrections. After successfully developing and managing the BTL region in that state for 5 years, Judy has now returned to Texas to tackle our new Lubbock Region.
Judy has 2 living daughters, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
