Halbert Unit Map

Ellen Halbert Unit is located at 800 Ellen Halbert Drive off Highway 281 South, near the airport in Burnet County, 55 miles northwest of Austin.

From South Austin: Take US290 West (it becomes TX-71-W) Go aprox 35 miles to Hwy 281. Take a Right on 281 and head north aprox 34 miles. You will go thru Marble Falls and just as you are getting into Burnet you will see a Shell Gas Station and a Chicken Express on your left. There is a light and a road between them. Take a left at the light and follow the road all the way back to the Unit. The road will make a sharp left and then another sharp right hand turn. Stay straight; the road will end at the Unit.

From North Austin: Take 183North to 29 West to Burnet. Take a Left on 281 and head South aprox one mile. You will see a Chicken Express and Shell Gas Station, take a right at that light and follow the road all the way back to the Unit. The road will make a sharp left and then another sharp right turn stay straight the road will end at the Unit.
